Year 2018

Hello there,

It's really been very long I have not written anything in this blog of mine. Always busy catching with what God has offered me throughout the year.

Well, I can say that last year 2017 has been good to me. My lady luck is with me and I can proudly say that I found the love of my life. Not only that, my career is also progressing well as I got promoted early this year. ^_^

What can I expect more since everything sailing smoothly.. Just be thankful that God has send me a wonderful guardian and gift to accompany me now, in future and till the end of time.

Life After Grad

Since I submitted my dissertation, I been frantically searching for job. And at last, I was offered a position of Admin in an non-profit organisation.

The first two months working is mainly on housekeeping, filing and maintenance. It's not something new but it's the first time experience working in an NGO for me. Till one day, things start to change the next few months.

I have been having emotional stress and hard time whenever I'm in the office. I'm not sure why. On top of that, I was told that the organisation cannot further sustain me as all the employees salary is based on donation and fund.

Having heard this, it give me a sense of unsecured-ness in addition that I'm on contract basis. Due to this, the boss encouraged me to find other job while I still can continue to work here till I find other job that may make good use of my skills and knowledge.

Well, I quit the job not long after that as I no longer can stand working there. Summarily, working for 6 months is an experience that I won't forget as it's my first time working in an NGO. Furthermore, it also make me realised that I'm more better to be volunteer than staff.

Two weeks notice

I tendered my resignation letter today.

Don't like the working environment with everyday facing the four walls, sitting in the cubicle, eyes glued to the laptop and not talk to anyone! No one at all! (Only me and the boss in the dept.)

Besides, the boss start to require me to work from home after office hours and weekends if needed. This is not the kind of working environment I wish to have and it's not stated in the employment contract. Why should I follow?

Totally New

I quit my old job and start a new one early mid Jan this year. New year new work. Totally new industry too i.e. logistic. No single background or knowledge. Hoping the grass will be greener and I will last long... *finger crossed*

Received a phone call from a property company asking me to go for 2nd interview. Should i go? Before making any decision, perhaps i should tell why i'm at crossroad..

The 1st interview happened like 10 months ago when i'm still looking for work at the time. The 1st interview went ok but no news after that. But why now? Must be something fishy.

Sigh.. Should i give a 2nd chance for the interview? And give up current job?

It only nearly 2 weeks i been working in this new company and i'm not happy. though the pay and working hours is good compare to my previous company but i don't like the office environment at all. here is too chinese-y, meaning the colleagues here is 100% is chinese either speaking mandarin or cantanose. this kind of environment is not i want. not only that, the office is quiet as well. no one talking to each other. like that how to survive. sure die. i'm used to working with different people with different race and suddenly stuck in this environment is making me crazy.

i'm soooooooo unhappy!!!!! :(

Confirmed

Received my confirmation letter from my CEO today. Before I signed the letter, guessed as a procedure, the CEO asked how I feel about the company working environment and can I communicate with other colleagues well which I answered with a simple answer. Everything is fine for me.

So, now I'm officially a permanent staff! Yay!  

Confirmation? or Extension?

It's already the month of July. One more month to my confirmation in this company. Will i get confirm? or further extension of probation? I do not dare to hope much with the situation that happen in my department recently. Just hope for the best.

Apart from work life, nothing much happen. I'm still thinking of whether continuing master this year or next year. I ask some advise from my lecturers and friends and they end up with the same answer to my question. Answer: Perhaps you work for a year or two and gain some experiences only decide whether want to continue master or not. Cause experiences do help a lot in ur master research and that master does not really help you in gaining better salary/position unless you want become a lecturer, then master do help.

Well, i just hope everything went smoothly and follow the flow/path that lead to a better future.

WTH

it's really crazy... ever since that b*t*h come into our department, the whole department is like hell... everyday the b*t*h find fault with all of us (the team). really "chiak pa bo shu cho"

when she cant fault with us, she will start complaining to big boss or back stabbing us ... hate her! cant she just do her work and stop doing this "siew yan" things?

really want to "tah siew yan"! the worst part is, i'm gonna have to stuck with her on weekend duty for the july and aug.... arghhh!!! really *$#@#

Its already June... and it will be a very busy month ahead...

I will be working non-stop without holidays..

5/6 (Sun) - 9am-5pm
11/6 (Sat) & 12/6 (Sun) - 9am-5pm & 10am-5pm
25/6 (Sat) & 26/6 (Sun) - 9am-5pm

Based on the schedule, i will only have 3 days rest for this month... *sigh*

Oh...

yeah, i can say i'm officially finish my degree. My thesis result is out and i passed! *Hurray* Now i only need to wait for my convocation. :)

no, bad news. All of the marketing department including me get a lecture from the top management in the meeting just now. Summary from the meeting, if we can't get in more numbers, we all gonna be gone case.

No performance = more lecture/extend probation/sacked

*GOD, please give me more strength to overcome all obstacles*

Tough

my work is getting tougher day to day... more target need to achieved and more roadshow have to participate to get the target.

will i hang in there for long? i wonder...

1 month

today mark the 1 month i've been working in this college as marketing executive. what do i have to say?

the job is not bad though sometimes a bit monotoneous and at times will work like hell especially during the open day or school career fair. so far its quite challenging for me as marketing job is totally not related to what i'm major in. haha...

the collegues are very friendly and the environment of the college is not bad. so far so good i can say!

conclusion: will hang on there and see where it can leads me to... hopefully towards a better salary.. :)

the star edu fair is KILLING me! i have to stand 2 whole days (long hours) till when i reach home i get leg cramp and backache. not only that, my stomach been not feeling well (a bit of gastric) and headache as well. really in BAD condition!

but its a good experience though. cause i'm going to the fair as college staff instead of as a student. =)

alrite for now. goona chao de. really really tired.. bye!

update on my 1st day of work

the day is not bad to start off i presumed. the time i punch my card, i was briefed by the HR about my work related stuff i.e. things that i should do and to filled up some forms.

next, i was taken a tour around the workplace (college) and were intoduced to the staff (lecturers, coordinators) and my other collegues.

after the tour, i was taken to my desk and were given a brand new set of stationaries of pen, pencil, highlighter, scissors etc. (my so called property) and ask to help myself to ask whatever questions that i dont know to my collegues.

as it was my 1st day, i was further required to find the programmed coordinator of the courses to get detail information about the courses. so far, i only manage to see one coordinator. the rest i will see them on wed after tomorrow holi.

oh ya, i get one fake rose flower from the student affair staff for valentine's day and i forget to bring it home (how forgetful) hahaha...

thats all for my 1st day of work.. =)

Interview

When for a walk-in interview yesterday afternoon, a post offered by a hotel. There is quite a few people on that day for certain positions that the hotel offered. So far i know there is 2 other people that is aftering the job that i went for on the day of my interview.

But now, I don't know how many competitors that i need to compete against as the walk-in interview will only last till this Friday, meaning there might be lots of people after the position that I applied. Sigh.... Anyway, the good news is that the interviewer is going to call me in for 2nd interview, which i don't know when.

Hope i can get the position. Fingrs crossed!

Buffet Lunch

Part of my part-time job is to help my mum during buffet by serving peoples. My mum were being ask to cook lunch for those people having CNY celebration by my father friends. There were about hundred guest being invited. Among those were young kids, the elderly and middle-aged. The event were held at the Li Tek school. Manage to take photos of my mum's cooking before the lunch start.

Function

it is raining outside despite it was sunny and bright in the morning and afternoon. just come back from work and a late supper having seafood hokkien char and sambal kangkung with parents on the way back home.

the function went on smoothly despite the rain. it was held inside a restaurant called Starview Restaurant located at Burmah Road and to be exact, it is opposite the Telekom building. it is an annual dinner of a factory/company.

anyway, during half way through the function, there is some embarassing moment happen in the ladies room in which i were at the scene!! the story goes like this, i was inside the ladies room waiting for my turn when suddenly the door open widely and boo... standing at the door were a man about to enter the toilet! all the ladies and the poor fellow were shocked to see each other when suddenly the man spoke.."oh i'm sorry... i thought it is a male toilet..." with this, he quickly turn and close the door feeling embarassed.

my guess, the fella must be drunk from the drinking until having difficulty in differentiating the symbol of the toilet door. poor fella...
